Anchorage needs a tougher law on alcohol sales to include bars
Last Tuesday May 24, 2011 the Anchorage Assembly approved an ordinance making that all liquor stores must request identification from patrons. The law did not go as far as the voters intended to have restaurant and bars request identification from customers. The Anchorage Cabaret, Hotel, Restaurant and Retailers objected to mandatory identification checks and do not care about the customers which is not a surprise when in 2010 they chose to no longer use taxis for their off the road instead use limos which is more expensive to the taxpayer. They also strong armed the assembly to water down the ordinance. Please your assembly you want the law tougher.
