Municipalilties not responsible permit value devaluations
Municipalities are not responsible for devaluations of taxicab permits. Many municipalities have let Uber in and the taxi permits owners who have sued have lost in court. Courts have ruled that the current taxi cab permit system is considered a monopoly. You can keep a monopoly to lower the quality of taxicabs. Most permits in Anchorage are really worth less than $1000 not the inflated over $100,000 the Anchorage Taxicab Permit Association says they. They can not put their permit for collateral because they are only worth less than $1000. A debt collector can not consider a permit as an asset if so I would had done it as bill collector before 2004.
