Anchorage Transportation Commission may put a new daily and nightly lease rate for drivers
If the permit owners decide to raise the rate too high for most drivers then the Anchorage Transportation Commission is talking about about capping the daily lease rate to no more than $100 for day drivers and $90 for night drivers. This will allow drivers to keep more money in their pockets to feed their families. If you are a driver and want the daily lease rate capped attend the January 27th and February 24th meeting of the Anchorage Transportation Commission to voice your support for daily lease rate cap.

Tuesday, December 3rd, 2013 Ten smart members of the Anchorage Assembly voted to approve Ordinance 2013-109. Customers will no longer be allowed to sit in the front seat even at the drivers request. Dispatch companies will have to have to make all their files available to the transportation inspector. Handicapped, Eagle River and Chugiak customers will have to served in a timely manner. Drivers will no longer get to choose their trips and dispatch companies must dispatch all trips except for the airport. The trip will go to the closest cab available not who in the zone first.
