We need to move the Alaska Marine Highway System out of the Department of Transportation. We need to create a new department called the Department of Ferries. This will make the Ferry system more efficient by creating a separate department with a separate administrator. It makes it so it does not compete with roads and other items in the Department of Transportation. Please allow the Alaska Marine Highway be an Independent department.
