Alaska tribes and corporations should help pay for Anchorage's chronic drunk problem
Since most of the Community Service Patrol calls are having to do with Alaskan natives. The Alaska Native Tribes and Corporations should help the Anchorage Municipal pay or expand the Community Service Patrol squads. This will allow the Anchorage Fire and Police Departments to pay attention to other citizens instead of dealing with chronic drunks all day long. Repeat offenders should be fined to help absorb the cost of services rendered.
Spokane's 8th Man is voice of the people
Spokane's 8th man is the voice of the people of Spokane against the Spokane City Council tyrants. Twenty years ago during the Riverpark Square debate I was a member of Spokane's notorious gang of nine. This is a movement that does not represent one individual. These are people that are tired of tyrants on the city council creating more traffic congestion, squashing dissenting views and making this city a sanctuary city. Every Monday come to city hall support the 8th man. Show Ben Stuckart and the city council who is boss.
Wage increase will effect very few Alaskans
Since most employers in Alaska hire Alaskans over $10 hours an hour. This only effects workers who are currently paid under $8.75 an hour. This is only 10 percent of workers. It does not effect independent contracted workers even if paid hourly. Most Alaskan workers make more $10 an hour. Price may increase soon to compensate to pay workers.
Those over 21 can smoke recreational marijuana in Alaska
Starting February 24, 2014 Alaskans can smoke recreational marijuana at their own residence. They may not smoke in public. You must be over 21 years of age to do it. You can not buy marijuana in retail stores that will not happen til about 2016. If you do smoke you might want have munches on hand. When you smoke pot you get the munches. Anchorage Police will be handing out Doritos at Fur Rondy explaining the law. You may still get fired if you test positive for marijuana use.
