Anchorage cab drivers must take trips with seeing eye dogs
Anchorage Cab Drivers under current regulations are required to take passengers with seeing eye dogs and children with disabilities. The only reason a driver can refuse a customer if they are required to physically lift a customer or the customer is extremely rude to the cab driver. If the customer refused to pay fare to the driver on a previous trip. If the customer with a disability can not get into a regular cab they must tell their dispatcher and the dispatch must send a cab that customizes to the disability such as a wheel chair that can not fold. Then a wheel chair accessibility cab must be dispatched. The cab driver is not required to lift a non folding wheel chair. Cab drivers due to liability reasons are not required to lift a customer into the cab. Cab drivers are required to take seeing eye dogs in the cabs regardless of they are allergic to the dog or not due to the Americans for Disabilities Act and they may not take refuse to take seeing eye dogs on religious grounds either. The dog must be well behaved not attempt to bite the driver. Most seeing eye dogs are well behaved. Customer may not be rude to the driver. Any customer fells the cab driver has refused to take them based on disability and refusing a seeing eye dog may call the Anchorage Transportation Inspector at (907) 786-8525 after they have complained to the manager of the dispatch company they rode in.
Welcome Home JBER based soldier Bowe Bergadahl
Today May 31, 2014 JBER based soldier Bowe Bergdahl was released from captivity from Taliban extremist. Congrats for the special forces taking him to safety after five years of captivity. Soon his family in Hailey, Idaho will reunite with him then if will decided whether he shall return to the army or receive a discharge from the military. The military will decide what is best for this soldier. He may also be prosecuted for deserting his unit in 2009 depends on what the investigation they find in Germany. It is great that he is free. However, we have just released five killers back to kill American troops still on the ground in Afghanistan. Maybe the Taliban will capture more soldiers to empty Guatanamo Bay of its detainees. Prediction is that Gitmo will be empty by January 20, 2017 by the time Barack Obama leaves office. Welcome home Sargent Bowe Bergdahl your family can not wait to see you.

King County Metro Transit contract with school districts to transport children
King County Metro Transit want to save your bus route approach the local school districts in become to the major transportation for school children. If you do this you not need to eliminate as many routes in fact you will be adding routes instead. Have most of your routes include a school within the route. In my hometown of Snoqualmie Valley you would have four bus routes through the whole valley if you contract with the Snoqualmie Valley School District. This will prevent cuts because the schools would pay for the bus rides for the students. Instead of reducing routes or going to the state legislature because the taxpayers in Vancouver, Spokane and Bellingham do not want to pay for your buses in King County. Have the school districts help pay for the buses.
Saint Louis Rams decided talent is better than status of person
Yesterday, May 10th, 2014 the Saint Louis Rams decided to draft a person of talent by drafting Michael Sam give him a chance. Lets put sexuality aside here. Plus if he is chosen on Saint Louis's 53 man roster one of the teams he faces is the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49'ers. Both places have gay bars he would fell at home at both places while playing. I also expect the Westboro Baptist Church to be in attendance lets hope these guys not show up in Saint Louis if so they get laughed at because they are not a man of god. He is not the first openly gay player that goes to Mantei Teo of the San Diego Chargers who was drafted last year. He seems to work out well. They also play each other this year maybe Mantei can give Michael Sam some pointers. Lets judge this kid on his talents. I am a Seahawks fan and I am glad he is facing us twice a year. Welcome to the NFL lets show the league is welcome to all types of people not just straight. Remember the NFL is for everybody. Gay groups do not make a media circus of this. Conservative group do not boycott the NFL you go against Jesus when you do.

Alaska State Alcohol blacklist is bad for recovering alcoholics
Recently a few Anchorage businesses have suggested a blacklist not to sell Alcohol to problem residents of mainly Anchorage. How long does this list last and what if all business choose not to follow the list. This list is voluntary. What if a person on the list changes their life around two to three years down the road. Do we only have the list for a year that the person who changes their life two years down the road does not get blacklisted because of a past behavior they received a couple of years ago. I support a blacklist of current people who can not handle their liquor but to keep a blacklist this puts a wall of shame and will continue to create a division within Anchorage. Most of those blacklisted will be Alaskan natives. Elizabeth Petratrovich back in 1946 fought successfully in the Alaska territorial legislature against Alaskan native discrimination this blacklist would bring that back. Please tell your legislators in Alaska no blacklist be allowed.
Lets have the Anchorage Tennis facility at the Loussac Library
Monday, April 7th it was suggested that the Alaska Legislature the money for the Anchorage Tennis facility be diverted to help with repairs for the Loussac Library. Since the Anchorage Library campus has plenty of land. We could have the tennis courts at the library along with a transit center there as well. This way you go to the Library you can play tennis too. Since the Anchorage Assembly meets there twice a month. Maybe after or before the assembly meeting. Mayor the mayor would like to challenge an Assembly member to a tennis match. Tennis, Assembly meeting and buses great combination. Let's build the tennis facility at the Loussac Library instead.
Alaska Governor Sean Parnell needs to start nominating Alaskans to boards and commissions
It is time that Alaska Governor Sean Parnell start nominating talented Alaskans for boards and commissions. There are many qualified Alaskans that are eligible for many boards and commissions with the State of Alaska. You do not need to go out of state because they gave money to your political campaign you need to reward them with a board or a commission seat. You should look for talent within Alaska to fill a seat on a board or commission. Local is best they know what is best for the state. Remember you are governor of all Alaska not just a select few and oil tycoons. Remember we put you in their to clean up government not for further corruption. Please consider Alaskans when you decide to choose someone for a board or a commission thanks.
