Finally justice for Shelley Connolly

Shelley was killed on January 7, 1978 and a bunch of tourist found her body at Beluga Point south of Anchorage.  Her killing was remained unsolved for over 40 years until a recent arrest of Donald McQuade at the Gresham Police Station near Portland.  Alaska State Troopers just arrested Don McQuade and charged him with her murder after some DNA match and will soon face charges in Alaska.

Here is a good example why background checks do not work

Recently Ammon Bundy went into a gun store in Emmett, Idaho and was denied the right to purchase a handgun on Saturday, August 31st.  He was cleared of all federal charges dealing with the Malheur refuge standoff on January 2016 that killed his father and charges were dropped in the Nevada due to mistrail.  They forgot to remove him from the database.  Legally he should been able to purchase a handgun.  This is why background checks do not work because of mistakes like this.  Background checks do not save lives and they do not prevent crime.  Mr Bundy should be a purchase any handgun he chooses to protect his family.  Please call your congress tell you support background checks you go bye bye.

Vince Beltrami your job as Alaska AFL-CIO Chief is to represent the workers

Vince Beltrami your job as AFL-CIO is to represent workers in labor agreements not to suck the tax money and buy politicians like your organization has done.  You feed elected politicians your famous Beltrami sandwiches to get them to vote your way. Your organization has also bought borough assembly all across this state to get your way.  Remember Vince you are not the governor of Alaska Mike Dunleavy is.  Just represent the worker in collective bargaining not buy politicians and corrupt them.

Most Alaskans have said no change in the PFD formula

Most Alaskans do not want a change in how the Permanent Fund is distributed.  Jay Hammond the governor who was the architect of the PFD this fund was meant to pay Alaskans the owners of the rights in terms of an annual payment.  By paying a full PFD put money back in the economy and it actually helps the economy.  When Alaskans apply for a PFD they expect a full check not a portion of the check.  The reason the Alaska House Majority and Giessel ran Senate they want you to pay a tax every year instead of give you a full PFD.  They know that most Alaskans will say no like they did back in 1999.  Some legislators have voted to tax you about 20k in change now in the past 4 years for a family of 4 like Geran Tarr and Ivy Sponholz have done.  Here is a link to an article I wrote earlier this year.  http://swensonfamilymember.blogspot.com/2019/04/alaskans-apply-for-permanent-fund.html

Tell your lawmakers the PFD is your money not theirs.
