Happy 20th anniversary to Washington's program to eliminate Eastern Washington's farmers rights

Happy 20th anniversary anniversary to killing farmers rights in Eastern Washington.  When the Growth Management Act was created by the Socialist legislature in 1990 with SB 2929.  This bill was actually enacted in 1992 due to state statue.  Every farmer in Eastern Washington had their liberty taken away by a bunch of moron evironmentalist at the time.  If a body of water had gotten a big enough on a private piece of property.  The local government or state government could declare a wetland and therefore private property rights went to hell.  Yes happy 20th anniversary to killing to the liberty of Eastern Washington farmers rights.  Please state senate reverse thanks.

Hey Tow Companies do not like charging reasonable rates in Seattle then leave

Here is one of the few issues I actually agree with the Communist Seattle City Council and Premiere McGinn on.  If you are a tow company you feel you need to charge $183 an hour to tow cars in Seattle.  The Seattle public has spoken leave Seattle and stop doing business there.  Their are other cities you can go serve like Bellevue, Shoreline, Everett, Federal Way and Tacoma that will give you plenty of business.  Seattle is not the only place you can do business.  People in Seattle deserve to towed at a reasonable rate and if you refuse to do that I would suggest that you do business elsewhere.  I think $183 is more than enough for a tow plus people do not ask to be towed.  Why should Seattle residents play higher auto insurance rates because you want to gouge people in their time of need.  These tow companies are the like the Grinch at Christmas time.

Hey Barack Obama I hear you need a replacement for cabinet positions

Hey Barack Obama their are few qualified Washingtonians that can make the list for following cabinet positions. current of out job political lawmakers Christy Gregiore and Norm Dicks need jobs.  Dictator Jay Inslee has the keys to the Washington State Governors mansion where he is smoking a refer with turn against your ancestors in the Roslyn Cemetary Speaker Frank Choppy Chopp.  Her only future prospects is to travel the state and perform in theater in the role she knows best the Nutcracker.  Wait she is already performing that according to my friend from Spokane Rick Rydell.  Norm Dicks has retired to great rocking chair in Belfair however he is too young to retire.  I hear you have a few cabinet positions.  Christy has experience as an attorney for the largest bureaucracy in the State of Washington known as DSHS.  She also was the Attorney General from 1993-2005 which I voted for her in 1992.  She would be good for the Attorney General, EPA and any future Supreme Court nominations you have.  She also would be good for your labor secretary position.  She could also be good for a transportation secretary maybe she could do dictator Jay Inslee a favor here in Washington State her first act could be to buy a overpriced ferry boat system called the Washington State Ferry system you can rename it Puget Track or as we sometimes call it here Washington State the little put puts.  Norm Dicks former 6th district congressman from Belfair the EPA he was also responsible during his 32 years of congress for refusing to defend the Olympic Peninsula against Woodsy in the early 1990's yes started under Bush 41 then continued in the Clinton administration.  He also would make a great CIA director due to his experience in congress in the Foreign affairs.  He also would be good for the transportation secretary same thing he could offer to Dictator Jay Inslee to buy the Washington State Ferry rename it Puget Track or Puget Putt Putts.  He would also be good as energy secretary since he has experience dealing with energy issues in dealing with dams on the Olympic Peninsula.  So since we have to deal with you til 2017 consider these soon to be out of work Washingtonians because we don't need to be paying pensions and unemployment to these two individuals they need jobs.  Please help.

Autism does not create monsters lack of belief in God does

Here is a picture of a 6 year old child gone too soon named Emilee Parker.  She was a beautiful girl who actual life was cut short and killed by this sadistic monster.

Hey Autism Spectrum Disorder is not the cause of this monster lack of belief of God caused this monster to shoot his mother then go to the first grade class in Newtown at the Sandy Hook Elementary School.  I can tell you Autism does not produce killers.  I was born with Autism 42 years ago and I am not a monster nor did I want to kill anybody when enrolled in the Snoqualmie Valley, Cle Elum-Roslyn and Kodiak Island School District.  I believed in God and I did not always get along with my parents but I did not want to shoot people.  My parents divorced at the age of 13 in 1985 and I did not cut ties with them.  He did have a mother who was an enabler who actually mentally abused the kid which my mother did the same and was very overprotective of me and still is by making it so I have to beg to get her approval.  I did not want to kill my parents and siblings over this.  Autism does not kill people or produce this behavior.  This piece of crap was also a taker not a giver again not an Autism trait either  most are loving to family members and friends do not pick up a fire arm out of anger.  Take it from my family that their autistic child has always been compassion and not wanting to pick up a weapon.  April 15, 2013 during the Boston Marathon had dedicated its 117th annual marathon to the 26 Victims.  20 Children and 6 adults at mile 26 of the marathon was called the Newtown mile.  At the finish line at around 3pm Eastern Daylight Time 2 Adults and one male child 8 years old named Richard Martin went into the gates of heaven on April 15th, 2013 and his sister now has a fake leg and mom has a serious brain. I hope the Martin family get their medical care paid by kind donations of the people of America.  With 260 people became injured on April 15th admitted to many local Boston area hospitals.  No town under any circumstance should suffer this type of tragedy whether it is Newtown or Boston.  Please pray for both and squeeze your children tighter.

Farewell to my grandfather Robert James Swenson 1924-2012

Here are a few pictures of my Grandfather Robert James Swenson one was at his home in Grand Junction in 2008, The middle one is a painting and the last one was my Grandfather with my mother Sharon in front a fireplace I think at his home at Snoqualmie behind the adminstration building used be the Snoqualmie school.

December 2, 2012 my mother had told my only living grandfather Robert James friends and family called him Bob Swenson has has passed at age 88.  He was born on June 23, 1924 at Snoqualmie Falls, Washington.  He passed away quietly on December 2, 2012 at the awesome age of 88 at the Veterans Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado.  He has two sons named Robert (Bob) and Jim.  He had two daughters named Susan and Sharon.  He had many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.   He graduated from Snoqualmie High School in 1942.  He was briefly involved in World War II.  He married Wanda Thompson on September 1944 for 26 years had four beautiful children by her.  He married Lola Mavis Jamieson Case in 1972 in Port Angeles. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather to many people. One of his favorite songs was Amazing Grace.  He moved to Port Angeles in 1970 lived there till his retirement from the Port Angeles School District in 1989.  He also in the 1970's owned an Exxon gas station.  He worked at Weyerhauser in the late 1940's and 1950's and at Boeing in the 1950's and 1960's.  During his last ten years he was in the Snoqualmie Valley he built a house west of Snoqualmie located on 381st Avenue SE it was built in 1961.  They spent their first Christmas there.  One of the picture is from the inside of the house.  When he was at Weyerhauser at the Snoqualmie Falls plant he overseen the computer automation of the plant.  He also was responsible for keeping the Snoqualmie United Methodist Church stove heated before during and after service so church members could get warm in the 1950's. He was also the church volunteer custodian and he believe in doing this for people and he refused to take money for his good deeds which I also have this same quality.  He was always treating his children and grandchildren with respect.  I also remember him making homemade ice cream with rock salt this was a Swenson trait because Grand Uncle George would do it to.  We were very close.  He was the son of Ralph Johan Swenson and Hazel Staurt one of seven children. He had three brothers named Stewart (Stu), George, Ralph and three sisters named Irene, Grace and Trudy.  Only Trudy is the only sister living and all of the rest of his brothers and sister have passed on already.  He was preceded by his grandchild Matthew Swenson who passed away in 1976 and his still born great grandchild Richard Alban Marion my first born nephew passed away in 1996.  He had when his closest brother Grand Uncle George passed away on September 1991.  I remember him and Dave Battey squeezing me tightly at the Swenson Farm.  It was like he lost his best friend when he lost his brother George.  I am going to enclosed a couple of pictures of him. I am the oldest son of Sharon Yakanak his youngest daughter.  You know every since his death I have a new perspective on foul language he also use to say that if cuss that is the language of the devil.  He was a devoted Christian my friend.  Here is a recent picture of a brick dedicated to him

Will we get Justice for his other victims in the United States

Here are photos of Israel Coward Keyes.

December 2, 2012 the Alaska State Department of Corrections had discovered the suspect Israel Keyes decided to take the cowards way out and possibly commit murders all over the nation.  He has already confessed to the murders of Samantha Koening, Bill and Lorraine Currier. Here is the timeline on Israel Keyes was all over the nation according to my friends at KTUU Channel 2 in Anchorage.  http://www.ktuu.com/news/fbi-says-israel-keyes-planned-murders-stashed-supplies-120312,0,2130588.story.  We might have been able to save Samantha Koening earlier this year.  February 1, 2012 this moron took Samantha at gunpoint at a coffee stand next to the Midtown Anchorage Coffee Stand then dumped Samantha's body at Matanuska Lake near Wasilla.  He was captured by Lufkin, Texas police.  While in Alaska he ran a construction company which may have been a front for something else or a money laundering angle this kind of reminds me of the Bethany Correrira case where the landlords where money laundering and Bethany got caught up in the middle in 2003.

Could limited taxi serve permits in Eagle River help local business

Here is the truth about what would happen if the Anchorage Transportation Commission were to issue limited taxi service permits for business in Eagle River and Chugiak.  As a taxi cab dispatcher for seven years their is not enough steady business in the area to make a profit without having to pick up trip in the rest of the Anchorage bowl to make an income.  Remember most taxi drivers have to pay lease, gas and insurance.  Taxi is not a charity.  A business does not survive if can not make a profit.  Bars in Eagle River and Chugiak to get their customers together should come up with a ride share program.  Senior Citizens and the disable could lobby their assembly members currently Debbie Ossainder and Bill Starr to get a van pool together with the assisted living homes to get their customers to appointment.  Taxi permits in Eagle River and Chugiak are not cost effective and will not make any money it is a failed idea.  Their is not 24 hour taxi business in Eagle River and Chugiak area to maintain one or one would already be established.  Even the Eagle River Shuttle can not stay afford to stay in Eagle River all the time just ask the owner he will tell you.  Recently a non licensed cab driver Megan Patrick tried offering free rides using her illegal gypsy cab service known as AK E-cab she says could not make a profit trying doing thisIf this was to happen Eagle River permits must be able to pick up in the Anchorage bowl if the current Boston Marathon tragedy has taught us anything we are one Anchorage not individual neighborhoods otherwise we should have permit serve only the area the permit owner lives.  By the way I believe since my Washington State vacation in 2008 in Spokane that the free enterprise system should prevail you more taxis better competition why can not someone like David O'Malley or a Will Merritt be able to own a permit even in the current Anchorage Taxi Ordinance 36 which I have read which needs some surgery you can go to the Anchorage Transportation Commission at 7:30pm on Monday, April 22nd, 2013 and the author of this blog will be their to testify and give copies of the actual testimony to all the comissioners and the transportation inspection.  Please show up if you want allow the freedom of the free enterprise instead of the taxi cab owner who are making more money on their permit and creating a cash cow.  If you believe in free enterprise and allowing more ownership of cab permits allow the industry to grow versus the top heavy argument.

Anchorage needs another grocery chain

Anchorage for the past 13 years has really only had one grocery chain here.  Carrs Quality Centers owned by Safeway.  Yes, Alaska Marketplace was up in Alaska for a time.  Safeway choose the locations it was doomed to fail from the start.  Most state when a chain buy a group of stores the state decides the stores it must sell not in Alaska they let Safeway decide.  Whole Foods and Albertson's please come to Alaska we need real competition because grocery prices by Safeway monopoly have double and tripled due to lack of competition not due to being remote to the rest of the country.

Attention Anchorage Municipal assembly and mayor why not penalize the panhandlers and the donors

Attention Anchorage Assembly and Mayor their is a municipal ordinance called 24.80.15 which prohibit unlawful solicitation on a public street in Anchorage, Alaska. Please also enforce this on the panhandler who is soliciting the donor parking as well. We can establish a consequences for this action

First offense a warning then a ride to Beans Cafe or Anchorage Rescue Mission if they refuse automatic one day at Community Service Lockup.

Second offense $500 fine for solicitor plus ride to Beans Cafe or Anchorage Rescue Mission if they refuse then either three days at Community Service Lockup or a week at Cook Inlet Pretrial charged as a misdemeanor.

Third Offense $1000 fine for the solicitor. Now depending on background and personal choice either can spend six months at Cook Inlet Pretrial charged as a misdemeanor. If they are not from Anchorage they have the option one time of having the taxpayers purchase them a one way ticket where they came from and unless it is an in state medical emergency they are officially kicked out of the Municipality of Anchorage if they show up again must provide positive identification then they will spend an automatic six month at Cook Inlet Pretrial for trespassing unless a medical emergency.

Now all these offense can be reduced in an exchange for alcohol and drug related treatment of offender and 500 hours of supervised community service each offense. Judges and defendants have this option during sentencing.

After the second offense notice the Municipal Health Department to send a notice to the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services and the Social Security Administration since most panhandlers are recipients of the fraud program called Social Supplementary Income which needs to be eliminated completely. Since federal law prohibits anyone having benefits that involves a criminal record since 1997 the last real Federal Welfare Reform Act which I had a hand in helping five states pass and support of last real GOP congress and President Bill Clinton signed it into law.

Please tell mayor Dan Sullivan, Anchorage Police chief Mark Mew and your assembly you want fairness in panhandling enforcement which means punish the panhandler and the donor.

Mayor Dan Sullivan ultimately vetoed it and it stood in October 2012.

Here is a picture I took with my cell phone of the 12th and Muldoon Intersection the panhandler is the small dude on east side of the intersection holding a sign.

August 27, 2012 a cab driver called that a three car accident was caused by a panhandler at the corner of C St and Benson Blvd near Popeye's Fried Chicken.  Anchorage Police Department refused to give the panhandler the citation even though he caused the accident.

We have a program in Anchorage called Change for the Better that is you give money to a Social Service agency not the panhandler do this period.

Recently as of September 30, 2013 Anchorage police Mark Mew after numerous testimony from the author of this blog Mark Kim Marion and Tom McGrath they are now using the Community Service patrols to now offer these panhandlers a free ride to a homeless shelter.  If they refuse then they call the Anchorage Police Department they are cited with a citation.  Finally this blog is being listened too. We did it.

Make bail amounts for suspects in Alaska should be above 100,000 for first offense

Alaska bail out amounts should be above 100,000 for severe crimes even on the first offense.  If you make penalty for the crime severe enough.  You prevent people from committing the crime.  You also should require at least 90 percent of the bail money before release instead of just 10 percent.  This will also deter crime.  By making the bail amount high you actually keep the prisoners in jail instead having to search for them later.  Having the bail amount so low it does an injustice to the victims of the crime.

Sell the Alaska Governor's mansion replace with condo

Who says the Governor's Mansion needs to be in Juneau.  Save some money sell it.  Governor's House should be where the Governor is currently living.  Sarah Palin only lived in the mansion during session then stayed in her house in Wasilla rest of the time.  Governor Parnell residence is in Sand Lake which is where the governor should be living when legislature is not in session.  Now days in the computer age you would have legislatures virtually could meet and stay in their districts.  This would allow the legislatures to be closer to their districts.  They only need to meet once a year like at the Den'ina Center in Anchorage once a year when the Governor addresses the legislature.  You would eliminate the per diem problem because all the legislatures would be in their district.  They could vote electronically on the issues.

Juveniles who fake their own kidnapping need to be punished severly and fined

Last month in August, 2012 we had a 16 year old girl named Viviana Gaspar Guerro from Mason County near Olympia who did not like the punishment her parents gave her.  She decided to run away triggering an Amber Alert.  She left her house making it look like a kidnapping.  Teenagers like her should be required to spend time in jail and pay fines for using first responder resources when a kidnapping never happened.  They waist the resources of first responders looking for someone who was never lost.  These juveniles who choose to do this should have to pay the complete cost of the operation and spend time in jail.  The juveniles parents will need to pay this penalty.  You should consider this like a false 911 call.

Anchorage Police looking for who set a fire at a loading dock at City Market Downtown

I want to apologize for not writing this blog sooner.  Mayor Dan Sullivan put this out in a Facebook message on June 28th.  Anchorage Police is looking for an idiot who decided to light a match at the New Sagaya Market at 9th Ave and I St in the SE Corner around 9pm, June 1st.  The idiot was wearing a dark jacket with reflective stripe across the shoulders and a dark ball cap.  If anyone was around that area near New Saguya Market around 9th Ave and I St on June 1st, 2012 around 9pm.  Please call Anchorage Police Department dispatch at (907) 786-8900 or Anchorage Crime Stoppers at (907) 561-STOP (7867) or The Arson Hot line at (907) 267-5060.  Let's catch this moron before he strikes again.

Retired Alaska Superintendents should be allowed to be charge of an Alaskan school district on a temporary basis

School Districts in my hometown state of Washington have the option of having a retired superintendent run the school district for one year while they look for a really good superintendent.  Alaska should allow a school district to tap a retired superintendent if a school district needs a superintendent.  This allows the school district to get a great quality of superintendents.  Washington Education Association does not penalize the retired superintendents pension while they run the school district for one year.

Alaska needs to have the top two election system in selecting candidates

Alaska needs to be the next state to adopt the top two election system.  This is the fairest election system it puts the people in charge of the elections not the political parties which is what Alaska was founded on the blanket primary window.  The candidate regardless of party gets selected.  This also prevents races from being decided in the primary.  Many legislative races were decided in a party primary where top two means the two candidates regardless of political party advance.  Their were many races that should be a general election battle instead.  Top Two is the fairest way please tell your lawmakers in Alaska you want the top two primary election system.  My home state of Washington State in 2008 has used the top two election system has worked very well and Louisiana has been using it for years and it works very well.

Time to break up the Washington Department of Social and Health Services

Hopefully the State Senate will help  Auburn State Senator Pam Roach in breaking up this agency since Mike Armstrong was defeated recently in an election.  This is the largest agency in Washington State when someone attempted to take scissors to this agency the State Employee association tells you to go to hell.  The last governor may she rest in peace was a Democrat Governor named Dixie Lee Ray actually address this problem too bad a volcano named Mt St. Helens to remove her from office good thing John Spellman defeated current Seattle communist congressman Jim McDermott in 1980.  The prison system became its own agency.  Now in this monster agency we the following agencies inside they are Public Assistance, Washington State Basic Health (DennyCare) my pet name for this after former 3rd legislative district state representative Dennis Dellwo was in charge of the health care committee during its creation.  Good thing Spokane 6th district did not elect him, Child Protective Services, Mental Health Services.  Juvenile Correction Facilities like Echo Glen in my hometown of Snoqualmie Valley are in this agency.  Now with the recent Powell family tragedy in Pierce County where Chuck and Susan Powell lost both grand children and many other bad stories of children dead due to bloated bureaucracy.  Let's create the following separate agencies have the Department of Social and Health Services RIP hopefully in 2016.  Division of Economic Assistance which will replace the Public Assistance Division.  Washington State Basic Health we can repeal that or at least have faith based organizations take over this.  Child Protective Services let's rename this the Department of Children and Family Services require that first responders be on the advisory board have one mental health professional, two police officers, one legislator from each political party or representative from each political party over the decision of this agency which will give an annual report to the state legislature and the governor.  Mental Institutions like Western State Hospital in Steliacom and Eastern State Hospital in Medical Lake can sold to Spokane and Pierce Counties.  Mental Health services should be a county problem not state problem.  Rainer School in Buckley can be sold to the White River School District to do what ever it wishes you can transfer all these residence to the counties they came from again this is a county problem not a state problem.  Juvenile correctional facilities can be transferred to the Department of Corrections that is what a lot of states do.  We need to give Governor Jay Inslee as much of a headache as possible make him see the light or show him the door in 2017.

It is time to create separate public ferry transit agencies to replace the Washington State Ferry system

In 1952 the Washington State government bought the Washington State Ferry system when state rescued the state ferry system from a company that was failing know as Black Ball Transit.  Now for the past 60 years the state has owned the ferry system sometimes at a loss.  Recently they decided to discontinue the direct route from Seattle to Kingston.  This will add time to a customer going directly from Kingston to Seattle.  We could ask Kitsap and San Juan Counties to take over the ferry system create a separate public agencies know as Kitsap and San Juan Ferries or can sell each route separately.  Create a separate regional ferry authority known as Puget Sound Ferry Authority.

We need to include federal law enforcement experience in top level police administration in Washington State

I guess now that Spokane mayor David Condon has selected a police chief now those running for the legislature when in January 2013 when your elected to the legislature can you include federal experience in high level law administration.  I believe that Frank Straub the new Spokane Police chief can be very up to speed by just reading Spokane Municipal Code and Washington State Public Safety Code without having to go through a state law enforcement training.  This demotes him to a rookie.  Mayor David Condon selected to be in charge not equal to the officers he is in charge off.  Please allow federal law experience to count as state law experience please make it retroactive to 2011 so Frank Straub can be covered through this.

Please build a bridge from Port Townsend to Whidbey Island

Hey Washington State Department of Transportation, Congressman Rick Larsen, Rob McKenna, Jay Inslee and soon to be Congressman Derek Kilmer, Washington State legislators lets replace the Port Townsend to Coupeville ferry run with a bridge or a floating bridge and let's honor Jack Metcalf with a bridge call it the Jack Metcalf Memorial Bridge. If we remove the ferry route that gets cancelled more than ran.  We save more money with a bridge than if we have to cancel all the time due to low tides.  Washington State Hwy 20 is the virtual route number on this boat so this is a state highway already.  Yes the ferry has a virtually George Washington Hwy 20 symbol on the boat.  Ste Hwy 20 intersects US Hwy 101 at Discovery Bay its western boundary.  When I was a child I used to pass this going to and from to see my Uncle Jim and Aunt Patty, Grandpa and Grandma Swenson yes Port Angeles was kind of our family second home while growing up.  Yes State Hwy 20 goes from Discovery Bay to the Idaho border at the Newport and Oldtown crossing and is the most scenic state highway in the state.  Too bad three months out of the year the highway between Mazama and Diablo is closed due to low maintenance during the winter.   When we are deciding to reduce the budget please consider replacing this route with a bridge this will actually save many taxpayers from Spokane all the way to Long Beach in Pacific County some money.

Every public school district inlcuding state governments should cut ties to public broadcasting

Kudos to Spokane Public Schools for no longer funding KSPS television.  You know Public Broadcasting says they are supported by donations.  Then government needs to stop funding the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.  They do not fund MSNBC, CBS, ABC and Fox News so why do they fund PBS.  The Socialist Republic of Washington needs to stop funding KCTS, Tacoma Public Schools needs to stop funding KTPS and the Socialist Republic of Oregon should stop funding Oregon Public Broadcasting.  Alaska State government should stop funding the Alaska Public Radio and Public Television and native corporations should fund it in Alaska's rural villages and stop fund ARCS (Alaska Rural Communications System).  Please contact your lawmakers get government out of the public broadcasting business.

Here is an idea Bainbridge Island City Council on passenger transport parking at ferry dock

Hey Bainbridge Island city council.  Why not increase a parking lot east of the terminal allow taxis, shuttle bus and transit bus to park their.  Passengers can walk their to get the transportation.  Have more lanes for private vehicles to get on the ferry then people walk to a parking lot to catch transportation.  This is make it easier for people to board the ferry.  You make the Washington State Ferry people happy, taxis, shuttle bus and also more room for private vehicle.  Try this Bainbridge Island move the transportation parking to another parking lot.

Where is Valerie Sifsof?

Here is a picture I took last month of her wanted poster at the Anchorage Transit Center on 6th Avenue in Downtown Anchorage

July 11, 2012 Valerie Sifsof was last seen at the Granite Creek campground south of Anchorage at Mile 64 of the Seward Highway between Anchorage and Indian.  She was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt type jacket with blue sweatpants, wearing black boots.  She is 43 years old, 5ft 5inches tall weighing 120 lbs.  She has black hair and brown eyes.  She is the aunt of well known Olympic snowboarder Callan Chythlook-Sifsof of Girdwood.

There is a $27,100 reward being offered for an information relating to Valerie's disappearance please call the Alaska State Troopers office in Girdwood at (907) 783-0972.  Her case reference number is AK12219013 or you can call the Alaska Bureau of Investigation Missing Persons Clearing House in Alaska at (800) 478-9333 or (907) 269-5497.  you can also check the website at  http://valeriesifsof.blogspot.com/  Please pray that we find closure in this case soon.  Since this is in Alaska's back country we may not find her or her remains for a while.  I am hoping that she decided to take shelter in a cabin near by has not been able to reach somebody.  Please help the Alaskan Native community find her along with her family.

Federal judge upholds Leavenworth's right to make business design with a Bavarian theme

I am glad the Federal judge has stated that Leavenworth can tell business they must design their buildings with Bavarian theme.  This makes the town more attractive and helps for visitors.  I understand that have the designed in this manner may make the business more expensive.  Many tourist come to Leavenworth every year to see the Bavarian theme and it has kept the town alive.  Another town that was also facing the same fate was North Bend my hometown in 1968 their city council also adopted the Bavarian theme.  However unlike Leavenworth, North Bend to ask businesses to voluntarily adopt the Bavarian theme.  Most business in downtown North Bend chose to do it.  North Bend has been better for this action.  Both Leavenworth and North Bend has seen better growth since they converted their downtown cores.  If you do not comply with Leavenworth's Bavarian theme they have your business elsewhere.

How about require a user fee for small neighborhood municipal parks instead of taxing everybody for them

Yes Parks are beautiful for a city.  Should tax money be used to make a park beautiful when not everyone is using it.  This could also be for bike paths as well.  As a former employee of Spokane Center from 1992-1995 while attending college at Spokane Falls Community College.  If a park is used a lot like Spokane's Riverfront Park then do not charge for that because everybody goes there.  This would also go for the Delaney Park Strip and Cuddy Midtown Park in Anchorage. Green Lake Park, Seward Park, Magnolia Park, Seattle Center in Seattle where a lot people use the park then do not charge if a small neighborhood park then charge to use and volunteers should maintain it not the taxpayers.

Physical address should be required when filing for office

When filing for political office unless it is for federal office.  Physical address should be required when file for state legislature, state senate, county commissioner, borough assembly and city council so residency can be verified.  It seems I see a lot of filing with just PO Boxes only come on are you ashamed where you live.  The main reason for this blog I have a feeling the Democrats recruited Former 3rd district liberal democrat Dennis Dellwo to run in a normally Republican leaning district.  Since the Washington Moron Democrats hijacked the Redistricting Committee since they put Cheney and Medical Lake in 6th district which has Democrat pockets in these cities could water down the district.

If a person put up false allegations against a public person

If a person trump a false accusation against a public person.  They should be required to pay for a one page ad in daily newspaper or 5 30 second radio commercials or 2 30 second television ads to apologize to the official.  If a national official they must buy advertising on one major network and one cable network like MTV.  If it is a political party they must purchase time on the opposition cable network.  If it is a Democrat you must purchase time on Fox News and Republican you have use MSNBC.

Municipal Fire Departments should charge people and business for responding to a false alarm

Recently their is a debate in the Bend City Council about charging people when they respond to a false alarm.  Let's say they can have one freebee a year then after that $500 the first time then $1000 each time after that within a year.  The main reason is because when a fire department has to be respond to a false alarm this takes time away from important emergencies that could delay someone getting care because the fire department is going to a false alarm call.  Plus most fire departments if the business is closed have to wait for the person to arrive to shut off the alarm.  Please support municipalities to find business and residences when they respond to a false alarm.  This should also go for a false 911 call if they do not call the dispatch before the first responders get their.

Need to close King Cove Airport

Need to build road from King Cove to Cold Bay then close the King Cove Airport because the Cold Bay and King Cove cold use the same airport.  This road will make it easier for King Cove residents can receive mail six days a week.  It will also bring the communities of Cold Bay and King Cove closer together.  It would allow the fisherman of King Cove to get their fish shipped out sooner.  It would also save taxpayers money by having one airport open instead of two at Cold Bay and King Cove.

Drugs should never be prescribed for Autism

As once an autistic child.  Drugs do not help the autistic child or may them function better they actually do the opposite.  They prevent the child from learning and keep the child stupid.  Later on the child has to become dependent of the government and be a burden of our taxpayer dollars.  The only drug that can help an autistic children is a parents love.  Let the child act out they actually will calm down by themselves.  Drugs do not help the behavior but love from a parent will.  Talk to the special needs child like a normal human being.  Do make the child feel special or more important.  Most of these children just want to fit in and be normal.  Focus on their talents and encourage that talent.  Then slowly introduce new things to do.  The way you confuse an autistic child is to constantly change things around them.  Most will either shut down when too confused or will not participate.  This will do the opposite of being a productive citizen.  Remember if the doctor says your autistic child should take a drug.  Tell the doctor no thanks just only give the child love a natural drug.  These children can function normally if given the right environment.

Spokane should continue to house inmates at Geiger Correctional Facility

Spokane needs to keep inmates housed at Geiger Correctional Facility.  This facility has been paid in full my Spokane County taxpayers many times over.  Housing inmates locally is better for the families so they can visit them.  Usually most inmates family live close by and having them moved to Benton County would actually make it harder for family member to visit them.  Instead of saving money and moving the inmates.  Please tell your city council to keep the inmates at Geiger Correctional Facility.  This would also present less of a headache for Spokane County because closing this facility would cause some correctional employees to lose their jobs.  This place has been a work release facility and has help inmates become better productive members of society.  The other alternative would be for Spokane County to allow more halfway house to house low risk offenders.

Child vaccinations should be a parents choice

Since we are hearing more stories that vaccines are not helping children against disease and create new disabilities.  Some children that have labeled autistic due to a bad reaction.  We have a problem most public schools required childhood vaccinations or they will not admit the child.  Some middle schools and high school are requiring juvenile females to have the HPV vaccination or they can not attend public school.  Their is only one state Texas that requires this so far thanks to Governor Rick Perry a former presidential candidate for 2012.  Please demand your local school district no longer require vaccinations to admit your children.  This should be a choice of the parent.  As a person who was one of the first to be labeled autistic at Seattle's Children's Hospital in 1975 as an autistic pioneer.  One of the first children enrolled in the Snoqualmie Valley School District with this condition.  My mother was one of the founders of Children Services of Sno-Valley now known as Encompass NW.  Please tell Texas school to stop requiring vaccinations for females against the HPV virus.  This vaccination has caused bad health effects on many females who have gotten the Guardsil vaccine such as permanent sterility or having a complete or partial hysterectomy due to the side effects and other problems in their lower abdomen and possibly ovarian removal of one or both of them lead to becoming a female eunuch

Some people will say if the child is not vaccinated they will infect the other kids.  The real question is since most disease have been wiped off due to great improvements in technology today.  Are vaccinations necessary for disease that either do not exist or have not resurfaces with in the last thirty years.  The answer is no.

The choice to vaccinate a child should be up to the parent not the morons in school district bureaucracy that are over paid should be laid off.

Hey Girdwood residents tired of getting shafted by the Municipality of Anchorage

Hey Girdwood residents tired of getting by the Municipality of Anchorage.  Since 1974 when Anchorage decided to annex the borough into the city.  It has left residents in Chugiak, Eagle River and Girdwood residents shafted.  State charter required all cities to provide police protection within the city limits of a municipality.  Anchorage however does not do this in Girdwood.  Their is no Anchorage Police Department sub station and they is no squad in dealing with Girdwood.  The Alaska State Troopers provide police protection for Girdwood.  Their is also no medical center for Girdwood residents if a Girdwood residents wants medical care you have to spend nearly $2000 on an ambulance and head to an Anchorage hospital.  People in Girdwood need to have Providence Alaska Medical Center put a clinic their to save residents medical dollars.  If Girdwood resident want something for their community they have to ask the rest of Anchorage municipality permission to have it. If the mother ship says no it means no for Girdwood even if Girdwood residents voted for it this is the same problem for Eagle River and Chugiak.   You need to first of contact an assembly member that will ignore you since they live in South Anchorage not Girdwood unlike Eagle River and Chugiak who have two assembly members.  Girdwood actually has a non functioning community council that the Anchorage Assembly ignores most of the time.  Voters in Girdwood need to form a committee get signatures and have a local election to ask the residents if want to become part of the Kenai Peninsula Borough.  If the majority of the residents say yes then propose to the Kenai Peninsula assembly to annex the Girdwood area.  The state legislature must adjust the borough boundaries due to resident demand.  If the Kenai Peninsula borough voters vote in favor of annexing you.  The people in Girdwood will have better representation and possibly the Girdwood and Hope may even have direct representation in the Kenai Peninsula borough.  Please express to the Municipality of Anchorage we want to be in the Kenai Peninsula Borough where Girdwood residents will have a voice.

Each major municipality and incorporated borough should be able to do their own autopsies in Alaska

Every major municipality in Alaska outside of incorporated Alaska borough and incorporated Alaska Borough should have a coroner or an independent medical examiner.  The reason is Alaska only has one medical examiner which is in Anchorage when an autopsy has to be done.  The body has to be flown to Anchorage instead of examined locally.  If each incorporated borough had a coroner or a medical examiner this would allow autopsies to be done locally.  For instance in places when their are no incorporated borough major cities like Bethel, Valdez, Dutch Harbor and Nome could have the autopsies done at a local hospital.  Places like Fairbanks, Juneau, Kenai Peninsula, Matanuska-Susitna and Kodiak Island Borough each had their own coroner or medical examine they could have their murder cases solved sooner and not have strain their resources on a Statewide medical examiner in Anchorage.  The statewide medical examiner can then be Anchorage Municipal Coroner or medical examiner can concentrate on Anchorage cases only.  Please tell your state legislature you want your borough or municipality to start being able to do autopsies.

Children with Autism should learn with other students in a public school setting

The best way to educate a child with mild autism like myself is to put them in the same classroom as other students.  Instead of putting these kids in a resource room where they can be labeled.  Most children with special needs do not like to be labeled in any way shape or form.  If a child is not audible by age ten then they should put them in a school where they can learn to communicate.  Most teachers once they learn how a mild autistic child learns can easily adapt their teaching styles to help these students.  Most of these students prefer to be in a regular classroom and can keep up with most students in the classroom.  Some educators feeling isolating these students or drugging them to learn does not help it actually does the opposite.  Some social workers also feel having these children collect social security benefits helps their expenses no it does not.  Most of these students want to be normal do not want to have to prove they are.  Most autistic children and adults want to treated like everyone else not be labeled or use excuses for their disability.  They just want to be treated normally.  This is how you should educate them.  Special education really needs to downsized and if a child really needs a special learning environment then a special school needs to be established to house these students otherwise mainstreaming is the best option.  Reducing the funds for special education actually saves taxpayer dollars and help the mild autistic child the best.

Hey Alaska Department of Transportation please put roundabout at Debarr and Muldoon Intersection

Hey East Anchorage you know North Bend has a roundabout has improve traffic congestion at the intersection of North Bend Way and Cedar Falls Way in the east end of North Bend.

East Anchorage residents are asking for a roundabout at the intersection of Muldoon and Debarr Rd.  Yes a traffic signal would also be required.  Plus the land to the east is still for sale so you would not have to worry about cutting into landowners land or anything like that.  You can also move the Muldoon neighborhood marker about 500 feet to the east to make this work.  If you want an example how a traffic signal works with a roundabout try the intersection of State Route 903 and Bullfrog Road between Roslyn and Cle Elum in Washington State.  Maybe the State of Alaska needs to hire a planner from Washington State to plan their roads.

Here is a picture of the Muldoon and Debarr Intersection

If Washington and Oregon lower the estate taxes

It seems that cities like Portland and Seattle are having a hard time selling their houses.  This is due to the fact their tax policies are socialist and close to communist.  The state legislatures of Oregon and Washington are no better here.  If you lower the property taxes in King, Multnomah as well as the states of Washington and Oregon they will be sell their houses or better yet increase the amount of people.  The truth is Portland and Seattle lost population in the last ten years.  Most are either moving out of the state or moving out their cities.  Yes, Washington State gained a new congressional district.  However Oregon stayed the same like they have in the past thirty years.  This is due increase population growth in Eastern Washington not Western Washington.  Who got the new congressional district you guess it the Olympia area.  The increases were east of the Cascades the West of the Cascades.  You want to keep your residents lower the taxes and want people to sell homes lower the taxes.

All libraries in Kittitas County should form a library district

Currently all four Kittitas County libraries operate separately.  However if Roslyn, Cle Elum, Ellensburg and Kittitas decided to form a library district or become part one of the largest library cooperatives in Washington State called the North Central Washington Regional Library.  This would make it so rural areas in Kittitas County would receive the proper training and professional library service.  Cle Elum in 1994 had this chance if they would have hired me as their Library Director.  This also will give them a chance to have taxing authority.  Please consider uniting all of Kittitas County libraries into a library district this will make it independent of city governments.  This makes so that people who live in South Cle Elum and people living outside of Ellensburg from having to pay extra to receive library service.

Washington's Most Wanted and King County Sheriff looking who murdered Tod Berkebile?

This picture is a memory of a picture I have of Tod Berkebile when I was a freshman in high school at Mt Si High School in 1986.  He would always be friendly to people in school.  Washington's Most Wanted and King County Sheriff are looking for who murdered Tod Berkebile?  I attended this party that Tod had attended near Lake Alice near Fall City. Tod and a someone where arguing over something that day.  I could remember about what I was too busy concentrating on what teenage boys do when drinking at the time.  He left the party in a truck with a person he was having an argument with.  I can tell you who ever this person was suppose to drive him home.  Apparently this person would be probably in his 40's now if still alive probably graduated Mt Si High School between 1983-1986.  I never saw this person in the senior class when I attended as a freshman.  My theory on this is the person he was having an argument decided to settle this somewhere quiet and private.  Back in 1986 the place of Echo Glen Rd and SE 96th St near Lake Alice and Echo Glen juvenile prison would have been a great spot for this.  Back in 1986 since Snoqualmie Parkway did not open til 1999 and construction did not happen til 1997.  The only way to get their at the time was Exit 25 on Interstate 90 southwest of Snoqualmie and head north on Echo Glen Rd.  I believe they were going to have a discussion.  He and Tod walked on a trail heading to Lake Alice he let Tod walk ahead.  This person had another motive then shot Tod in the back then left the area.  Then approximately a week later the first time of heard of Tod's death was when a Seattle PI reporter asked while I walked home from Mt Si to my Meadowbrook home on Walnut St in Snoqualmie.  Then a day earlier an announcement came over the loud speaker through the intercom at the high school about Tod's death.  Most of the students were in mourning over it.  If anyone was at that party remembers the argument that night and can describe the person.  I believe this person may or may not be in the Snoqualmie Valley area now.  Someone in the Snoqualmie Valley who is over 40 knows who this person was needs to start talking you can call the Puget Sound Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or Detective Jake Pavlovich at (206) 205-7887 from the King County Sheriff's Office.  This is the only unsolved murder mystery in the Snoqualmie Valley history that has been unsolved to date.

Washington's Most Wanted and King County Sheriff are looking on who killed Amina Agisheff

Washington's Most Wanted and King County Sheriff are looking to see who killed Amina Agisheff on July 7, 1982 after she walked from her mother's Downtown Seattle Apartment she would had taken the bus to her Ballard home.  She was somehow snatched from a Downtown Seattle street then dumped in a wooded area near Hobart near State Route 18 which her body was found in 1984 in a wooded area.  Did anyone see some unusual activity in Downtown Seattle or snatch a 35 year old woman while she was walking late at night in Downtown Seattle.  Did anyone see some strange activity at a logging road near Hobart like a car in the area drop something off in the Summer of 1982.  If you knew anything you may call Puget Sound Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or contact Jim Allen from the King County Sheriff Office at (206) 296-7530 or you may e-mail your tip to MCUTips.KCSO@kingcounty.gov refer to case no 84-0744461.  Let's find out who killed this mother of three deprived her Malina from allowing her children to call her grandma.  I hope if you are caught you spend some serious time in prison.  Thanks David Rose from Washington Most Wanted for bring this case to my attention.

Lawmakers should not be allowed to accept contributions during sessions

Legislatures, Congressman and Senators should not be allowed to accept political contributions which is the law during sessions like in my home state of Washington  and my current state of Alaska Legislatures.  This give people more trust in public officials and keeps them more honest with the public.  Something else that might be great is have them banned from lobbying their legislative bodies after they leave office for five years.  This will make them less likely to become lobbyist.

Kudos to Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland for forming Child Cold Case Abduction Response Team

Kudos to Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland for having Tacoma Police Department form a Child Cold Case Abduction Response Team.  Hopefully they will concentrate on finding Angela Mae Meeker who would now be 47 years old.  If you have any questions on any child cold case from Tacoma.  Please contact the Tacoma Police non emergency line at (253) 798-4721.  Let's hope we find Angela Mae Meeker alive.  Thanks Marilyn for wanted to find missing children in your community.

Each state should create their own security department for in state flights

Each state should create their own security department for in state flights.  This would really be great for Alaska and Hawaii because aviation is a major industry.  In Alaska their are a lot of in state flights.  The state of Alaska should form the Alaska Security Agency they would make policy and decide whether search on in state.  The Transportation Security Agency should only be for interstate flight and international flights only.  Please tell your congressman and US Senator you want the state of Alaska and Hawaii allow them to create their own security agency for in state flight.  The TSA should not be allowed to screen or search if the flight is from Anchorage to Kodiak for instance.

World Criminal Court is looking for Joseph Kony

World Criminal Court is looking for Joseph Kony.  This piece trash is charge of the Lord's Resistance Army.  This moron is just as bad as Osama Bin Laden.  What really made me mad about creep is he abducted male children to fight against many African nations.  He also has traffic girls for prostitution which really got me on this case.  I thank the Invisible Children for bringing this to my attention.  I hope America's Most Wanted will profile this creep often and people in Africa watching the show on Lifetime and sometimes on FOX will see him and turn him in the national authorities in the African nations.

America should have a national rebate program based on surplus revenues

Alaskans received a record dividend in 2008.  Alaska has a permanent fund dividend program since 1976 based on earnings in the fund to their residence.  They use it to conduct a census to repay government agencies from people who owe child support and other agencies.  Give people more money each year in a form of a rebate will actually let me know that people spend their money better than the government.  Unlike the Alaska Permanent Fund which are paid to welfare and social supplementary income recipients.  They would have to sign a waiver that gives their rebate checks to the agency that gave them their monthly checks to receive assistance otherwise this is double dipping they also would have their child rebate checks as well.  Imagine getting a yearly check from the government like Alaskans do.  You pay taxes every year should government give something back to you instead of funding their pork barrel projects.  This could be used to conduct a census of the country can used every ten years for congressional redistricting.

Have bars and liquors stores open 24 hours a day

If you have bars and liquors stores open 24 hours a day if they choose will reduce drunk driving.  Seattle is going to try to have liquor sold 24 hours a day.  This is not a bad idea plus if one places has bar closing people go to a place that does not or the bar closes later.  This also reduces illegal activity by have the bars and liquors open 24 hours a day.  If you eliminate the drinking age like they do in Europe this will reduce the bad behavior of drunkenness.  It would also ease taxis where other areas of town can be covered in a timely manner.  It would make it easier for a customer to get to the airport in a timely manner.

Quest Cards should only be accepted at major retailers in Alaska

Quest Cards should only be allowed to be accepted at major retail stores only. During a recent visit I had in Washington State unless you are a supermarket you can not accept Quest cards at all.  The exception if you are in the Alaska Bush or a small unincorporated community within 20 miles or more from a community over 1,000 people in population.  This will prevent fraud on the Quest Card system. Most mom and pop stores do not have a way to train people how to properly be able to take Quest Card.  Cashiers before you are allowed to use the Quest card must ask for ID they also are more likely to fraud the system by allowing the participant to have more cash on hand then allowed by Quest Card rules.  We also need to not allowed Quest Cards to used at pull tabs and casinos.  Recently California and Washington have pull all Quest Card machines from pull tab places and casinos.  If an Alaskan receives Quest Card for cash benefits they should be required to sign over their Alaska Permanent Fund dividend and everyone in their household including their children.  All the Quest clients should be ankle monitored so if someone does risky activity then their benefits shall be cancelled immediately.

Anchorage Transportation Commission is looking for customers who are dissatisfied with quality of dispatch staff

Anchorage Transportation Commission are looking for customers who are dissatisfied with the quality of service the dispatch staff at Alaska Yellow Cab has provided.  Recently, they raised their dispatch stand rent effective March 1, 2012 to $1000 for taxi.  Since they will not repair the equipment after hours in order to do their shift.  The systems manager refuses to clear his voice mail to allow people to leave a message making him not available.  The taxi are only not going to receive $1000 a month service they are only receiving $350 a month.  When a customer makes a complaint on a driver.  It is not acted on in an timely manner.  They also do not handle complaints in a timely manner.  They have been know to use foul language when a customer gets mad at them instead of attempting to calm the customer down.  When a customer ask when they will they get their cab they say as soon as we can instead of giving an estimate time of arrival.  I guess when the highest management such as Regina Doyle and Ron Lane also used foul language when talking to customers.  Complaints have gotten ignore or have not been addressed by the dispatch staff and manager.  Cab drivers have complained for over 8 years they have had a hard time reaching dispatch unless I was behind the desk.  Drivers for the last couple of years have complained that unless they are at a geographic center they either have to hit the meter on and off to get another trip since they could not void the trip because of not being at geographical center of the trip.  They also have a 30 minute unjust rapid meter penalty to the next trip.  Unless a dispatcher looks at each trip and determine should hit the rapid meter override before the driver calls for the dispatcher to do it.  I always automatically hit the rapid meter override if location is a strip mall, trailer park and a apartment complex and W Dimond Blvd and E Tudor Rd due to not being at geographic center.  This 30 minute rapid meter penalty should destroyed because it is an injustice to driver. Dispatcher should work with the drivers not against them or play god over them.  Remember without drivers you have no cab company.  If you have had a hard time dealing with the dispatch staff you can call Eric Musser at the Anchorage Transportation Inspection office at (907) 786-8525.  If they gets enough complaints then they can perform a quality of service investigation at Alaska Yellow Cab.  You can e-mail them at wwti@muni.org state your complaint to them.  This will give Anchorage better quality of service and make Alaska Yellow Cab accountable

Anchorage Dispatch employees should be required to have safety training

According to AMC 11.40.054 Anchorage dispatch employees must be familiar with emergency notification and their training programs must be approved by the Transportation Commission currently both Anchorage companies Alaska Yellow Cab and Anchorage Checker Cab are not in compliance with this statue.  Their has never been a training plan approved by the Anchorage Transportation Commission by both companies.  We require that cab driver must take a course to familiar with Title 11 this is not done by the dispatch companies.  The training is pretty you throw them on without a test.  They should be required to take the test but must have 80% in order to be able to dispatch a cab.  Safety is the most important in this business.  It seems that Alaska Yellow Cab management for the last seven years has never cared about.  It is not just Regina Doyle but Ron Lane as well.

TSA has gone too far having a Alaskan Native garmet a weapon

Recently Alaska's senior US senator Lisa Murkowski was asked recently to remove her kuspuk.  This is an Alaska native parka traditionally warn by some Alaskan Native woman and girls.  You know their is a better way to do this since the Transportation Security Agency was a created by a knee jerk reaction to the towers falling on September 11, 2001.  We have now seen unnecessary searches against our citizens when most of the terror breaches have come from a lack of foreign security not American security.  We need to demand that countries like the Netherlands either get tougher with their security.  We will an demand either get tough or you if want to fly to and from Amsterdam you will fly to Brussells or Munich to get to Amsterdam.  Come on when is an Alaskan native clothing considered a weapon.  Abolish the TSA and create a TSA for only for interstate flights.  Each state should be allowed to create their own security for in state flights especially in Alaska and Hawaii.

People are choosing open primary due to 2008 Supreme Court ruling over Washington State Primary

According to my friends at the Olympian on March 18, 2008.  The Supreme Court ruled 7-2.  The people can control how people could elect their leaders.  They upheld Washington State's Initiative the voters to select their top two vote getters will go to the General Election.  Please enjoy political parties the people are in charge again which the constitutional founding fathers intended.  The only reason political parties exist is due to a duel in 1800 when Aaron Burr killed Alexander Hamilton.  States were a person can decided their candidates are Washington, Louisiana and California starting this year.

Boy's wish inspires a nation to give to the homeless

This boy who inspired a nation to give to the homeless.  Many people in the Seattle including my friends at KOMO News and around the nation gave food to the homeless in his honor.  When you think of giving food to the homeless think of the legacy of Brendon Foster who passed away in 2008 from an illness and wished for everyone to be fed.  When you see a homeless person buy him a meal.  I remember during my living years in Spokane.  I am sure Marty from Truth Ministries remembers our time at City Gate Fellowship together in 1992 and I used to hand out sandwiches to people around 1st Avenue and Jefferson Street near the Otis Hotel right across from the current KHQ studios where the Greyhound station used to be before in 1996 they move to the Intermodel transit center behind the old Thudpuckers.  I also used to buy a to go meal from a former grocery at Riverside and Howard called Two Geezers who was a great business in Downtown Spokane where Spokane Transit office used to be.  Before Tom Foley used his political muscle as speaker to change the big hole to a Bus station next to the Old Crescent Building.

Anchorage Taxi Cab drivers would benefit creates more competition and greater choice for the public

Limited open entry creates more competition and greater choice for the Anchorage Public.  Highly regulated and limiting permits like Anchorage just limits peoples ability to choose.  Spokane city has the same population as Anchorage not including the occupied areas of Eagle River, Chugiak, Spenard and Girdwood.  Their permits are business licenses costing only $1345 a piece.  Have the assembly  repeal 11.20.030 section D requiring public auction.  More permits more competition.    Limited competition please no one except the elite owner morons which ATPOA represents.  In Anchorage you have 174 permits.  Even smaller cities like Homer, Bethel, Nome, Kotzebue, Barrow, Fairbanks, Kenai, Wasilla, Kodiak, Ketchikan and Juneau have greater choices than Anchorage.  Currently in the Anchorage Transportation Commission their is a debate on transferable and non transferable permits.  Here is what really needs to be done.  Let's reduce the value of these permits $0 they pay $1345 every 2 years since all permits belong to Municipality not the owner at will like the ATPOA would like to say.  The only time these permits should be transferred is through family if the owner is not to perform this permit.  Let's also make these permits a requirement you must live in the Municipality of Anchorage to get one and have three years of cab driver experience.  Should cab drivers like Lynette Moreno-Hinz be able to purchase a permit.  Anchorage needs to adopt the Spokane model have the permits be $1345 every 2 years to create competition and do what the founding father intended.  If you want competition of taxicabs in Anchorage contact Debbie Ossainder at (907) 343-4113.
