They have call centers in Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane and Boise as soon as the politicians quit screwing around in Portland one there. Uber will employ up to 50 people as call takers and dispatchers. Local drivers would have a local person to talk to in an emergency. That was the concern I had too. If an Uber driver got shoot like back in 1999 you had three Alaska Cab shootings. In 2001 Alaska Cab became the first technology provider. These call takers would be more like local experts if they say a destination not on the app. You can email the person. They call the person send the cab there. Uber shows up. No more sending 10 cabs to Tudor Road Bingo and only 2 show up because the dispatch companies put out a general message you see the same message. If 6 customers want a cab at Tudor Road Bingo you send six cabs period. The dispatch companies call it high traffic or problem area. Really called discrimination based where the call is.
