Decision to honor Granddad Swenson at a family Christmas Party
As many of you many the author of this blog the month of December was usually a happy month for this author. Because you have Christmas then the authors birthday. That year this author was going a personal time along with other family members. Four years earlier we had an over the phone conversation he mentioned he wanted no grandchildren to be present at his service. He felt his grandchildren should remember him as the fun grandpa he was while they were growing up. He loved every grandchild equally. Due to Aunt Patty and Uncle Jim's health we made an exception for Karianne and Billy because he would wanted someone there for that wing of the family. He asked the grandchildren to honor him in their own way. He said to me since I had the best friendship with Dave Battey my 2nd cousin. He felt I should get a memorial to honor his commitment to his country in our hometown of Snoqualmie. That is how we started that part from the Marion wing of the family at the Snoqualmie Veterans Memorial brick. I chose to honor him at a family Christmas party where I mention our family thanks you for their prayers at the time. He only wanted the 4 kids at the time of the service. He appreciated each grandchild's accomplishment especially mine due to being the special needs child because I became successful and continue that idea fighting to people less than myself. I was born with Autism I have shown that disability does not mean that. He is also one day the boss in a series of books I plan on writing to a barista and a sidekick fighting crime or bring people to heaven who were bullied who's headquarters is a coffee stand in Midtown Anchorage. Later the family got over my decision not to go to Grand Junction instead go to a Christmas Party in Monroe and tour my hometown of Snoqualmie and North Bend. It was his wishes that his grandchildren not attend. Granddad is looking over us proud of all of his family. He had an impact on everybody at the time.

Anchorage Assembly has ordered the arrest of the plastic bag
Tuesday night, August 28th, 2018 the Anchorage Assembly approved a plastic bag ban by a vote of 9-2. With only Fred Dyson and Amy Demboski voting no because they did not want to order the arrest warrant of this criminal. Mayor Ethan Berkowitz has hired more police officers I guess not to fight crime. He has order police chief Justin Doll to have his officers round up this bandit starting March 1, 2019 each bag will be round up and put in a round container at most retailers unless you are homeless or stoned. If you see a lot of plastic bags that are in handcuffs. It is mayor idea of fighting crime just arrest the plastic bag.

Thank you Alaska State legislature for flooding the Anchorage Taxi Market
Ever since May 17th, 2017 when HB 132 written by Adam Wool and SB 14 written by Mia Costello to allow Uber and Lyft in Alaska. In this provision no municipality is allowed to regulate it. This has caused a problem many long time cab drivers who have driven to make ends meet. We need to allow the municipalities to regulate Uber and Lyft just like Alaska Yellow Dispatch and Anchorage Checker Dispatch. We need an even playing field not a lopsided playing field. We have cab drivers quitting because they can not make ends meet. This is one of few professions as an independent contractor you have to pay for everything. As I mentioned during my dispatch days you are your own business. Dispatch gives leads. The dispatch works for them. You have no health insurance unless you pay for it. You have to drive 12 hours a day and sometimes if you are not the owner. You pay lease guess what you do not make lease you lose job. Some cab drivers live on food stamps. Why should a cab driver working hard be on food stamps or even qualify for food stamps. Average cab driver makes $9 an hour that is below minimum wage now was right at minimum wage then in 2004.
NEA Alaska and Alaska AFL-CIO support taxing Alaskans
Two of the state largest public employees have endorsed Walker and Mallott. These public unions support taxing Alaskans to support their causes and their special programs. They believe that you should not receive your permanent fund dividend. They support taxing Alaskans $14,516 every 3 years for a family of four. Yes the AFL-CIO and NEA-Alaska support taxing Alaskans for extra government service. Want to stop these public unions from taxing Alaskans vote for Mike Dunleavy and Kevin Meyer for Governor and you will see a rebate in your bank account.

RIP TO ARIZONA SENIOR SENATOR JOHN SIDNEY MCCAIN
Yesterday, August 25th, 2018 Arizona and the nation lost one of the greatest people in the US Senate he like a previous US Senator from Alaska the state I currently live in Ted Stevens was able to reach across the aisle when it really mater to his state. He always cared about his awesome state of Arizona just like our Uncle Ted did in Alaska. He was born on August 29, 1936 in the Panama Canal zone where his father was stationed at the time. He eventually started his own military career at age 18 in 1954 at the U.S. Naval Academy. He was shot down in a plane over North Vietnam in 1967 when he was captured held prisoner for 5 1/2 years til his release in 1973 when Richard Nixon ordered the retreat of US Forces from Vietnam. Ten years later he began his political career by being elected in 198 served two terms in the US House from 1983 to 1986. He was elected to the US Senate in 1986 and served from 1987 where he served six terms as US Senator until his death day. He along with a former Wisconsin Democrat US Senator I like Russ Feingold who was defeated in 2010 came up with McCain-Feingold the landmark campaign finance required in any federal election campaign involving the candidate. He and Russ are the reason in each ad you see requires the Candidate saying I approve this message must be in each political ad on a national and state race for federal office. I was happy to vote for him in 2008. He also was a major reason Sarah Palin an Alaska governor was picked as his running mate. I heard that Mark Begich is now taking notes from this experience in how to market Debra Call in the current 2018 Alaska Governors Race. He lost to Barack Obama in 2008 in the presidents race. He continued to enjoy success for the last ten years of his life. RIP John McCain you are a great public servant. Arizona and the nation were glad you decided to serve us because now you are serving us in the heavens where he joins Uncle Ted and other great public servants in the sky and one standing tall his last name is Hickel who is joined by his wife. RIP John McCain you were awesome not just to Arizona but the nation.
