A lot of people testified in the Uber debate at the Tuesday October 21st at the Anchorage Assembly

Many people testified on Tuesday October 21st in the Uber debate at the Anchorage Assembly.  Most of the people testifying where greedy say if Uber comes in they need to be compensated for their permits.  They are lying to the Anchorage Assembly saying Uber is not safe when they are.

The only people that testified that had logic in the room was Andrew Halcro, Bethany Markum, ,Lynette Moreno-Hinz, Uber drivers, David O'Malley, Uber executives and myself who feel competition makes a better cab industry.

Most of the cab drivers members of the Anchorage Taxicab Permit Owners Association  told lies to the Anchorage Assembly this includes dispatch owners of Alaska Yellow Dispatch and Anchorage Checker Cab which are also technology providers.  They were mentioning Uber cabs were not safe when they are they just need to be marked.  They also said their permits were property then the public wants evidence that property tax was paid if not then they actually worth nothing.  Municipality of Anchorage deceived every permit owner into thinking they are worth thousands of dollars when they are not.  When Spokane's Title 10 was cemented into law the taxi cab permit owners were not compensated they could not prove to the Spokane City Council in 1980 that property tax was paid.  These permits belong to the Municipality of Anchorage not the permit owners.

You can on this ordinance on Tuesday, November 18th remember we must tell the Anchorage Assembly that competition is necessary.
